    UT Basketball gets huge commitment

Reynaldo Woolridge is the son of former Notre Dame and Chicago Bull standout Orlando Woolridge.Reynaldo is a top 50 player and a 4STAR. UT already has a top 50 center Philip Juric out of Chattanooga. Getting 4 star recruit Chris Singleton will be hard. The big fish out there is Elliot Williams. Williams is a top 15 player in the country. He is a 5star recruit out of Memphis.

Re: UT Basketball gets huge commitment

For Williams, it's down to hometown Memphis, UT (where his gf wants him to go as she will be a bballer herself at semi-nearby UT Chattanooga), Duke, & UVA. The kid has a 3.8 gpa at a good prep school and has a good head on his shoulders - wants to major in business/sports management and he claims he wants to get his degree. We typically don't have a place in the world going after a talent like this but UVA sure as heck is trying.

Williams, a Memphis, Tenn., resident whom Rivals.com ranks No. 16 in the Class of 2008, has taken official visits to Duke, Virginia, Tennessee and Memphis. He's expected to announce his choice this month. At U.Va., Williams formed a friendship with Singletary, and they've stayed in touch.

"I've been in communication with him, like, two or three times a week," Singletary said. "I don't want to seem like I'm bugging him or nothing, but I try to talk to him as much as I can and just tell him how it feels to help turn something around. It feels great." - from an inrich.com article

He's set to make his decision on Nov. 2nd. If he doesn't pick UVA, I hope he chooses UT or Memphis. Just as long as the rat doesn't get him...

Key to this class is Williams. I just hope Pearl can work some magic on this kid. We need some help at guard next year with Lofton gone.

Tennessee will not win the SEC, let alone the national championship.

Re: UT Basketball gets huge commitment

There are a handful of teams, IMO, that could win the national title.

As far as the SEC is concerned, UT does have the talent to win it, but Florida is still the champs until they are dethroned.

There are a handful that could win it. UNC, Memphis, Lousiville, but UT would have to be in there.

Gators don't have near the talent that is in Knoxville. They lost their entire starting lineup!
